Our Community

DoDot is a place to share authentic moments through daily prompts. We want everyone to feel safe, respected, and free to express themselves. These Community Guidelines outline what's acceptable on DoDot and what's not.
By using DoDot, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violating them may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans. We may also report illegal activity to law enforcement.

Be Authentic

  • Share real moments
  • Respond genuinely to daily prompts
  • Use your real identity - no impersonation
  • Share content you have rights to post

Don't fake it

  • No impersonating others
  • No fake or misleading information
  • No artificial engagement (buying likes, using bots)
  • No spam or repetitive content

Be Safe

We want DoDot to be safe for everyone. Never post content that could harm others.

Violence and Dangerous Organizations

  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Support for violent organizations
  • Content that promotes dangerous activities
  • Instructions for self-harm or suicide
  • Graphic violence or gore

Get help: If you're struggling with thoughts of self-harm, please reach out to local emergency services or crisis helplines.

Child Safety

  • Zero tolerance for:
    • Sexual content involving minors
    • Grooming behavior
    • Exploitative content of children
    • Sharing private information about minors
  • We report all child exploitation to authorities.

Adult Content

  • Not allowed:
    • Nudity or sexual content
    • Sexual services or solicitation
    • Explicit sexual content in any form
  • Keep DoDot appropriate for all ages (13+).

Dangerous Activities

  • Don't promote:
    • Drug use or sales
    • Weapons sales
    • Self-harm or eating disorders
    • Dangerous challenges or pranks

Be Respectful

Treat others how you'd want to be treated.

Harassment and Bullying

  • Not tolerated:
    • Targeted harassment or intimidation
    • Revealing others' private information (doxxing)
    • Unwanted sexual advances
    • Threats or blackmail
    • Encouraging others to harass someone
  • One strike rule: Severe harassment results in immediate permanent ban.

Hate Speech

  • We remove content that attacks people based on:
    • Race or ethnicity
    • National origin
    • Religious affiliation
    • Sexual orientation
    • Gender or gender identity
    • Disability or disease
    • Age
    • Veteran status
  • Slurs, stereotypes, and dehumanizing language violate these guidelines.

Privacy

  • Respect others' privacy:
    • Don't share others' private information
    • Get permission before posting photos of others
    • Don't share private messages publicly
    • Respect when someone asks you to remove content about them

Be Lawful

Intellectual Property

  • Only post content you own or have permission to use:
    • No copyrighted music in videos
    • No reposting others' content without permission
    • Give credit when required
    • Respect trademarks and brands

Illegal Activity

  • Never use DoDot for:
    • Illegal goods or services
    • Fraud or scams
    • Money laundering
    • Hacking or malicious software
    • Any activity illegal in your location

Regulated Goods

  • Don't promote:
    • Alcohol (to minors)
    • Tobacco products
    • Drugs or drug paraphernalia
    • Weapons or ammunition
    • Adult products or services

Content-Specific Rules

Responding to Prompts

  • Stay on topic - responses should relate to the daily prompt
  • One response per prompt per account
  • Don't spam the same response repeatedly

Messages

  • Remember: messages auto-delete after 48 hours
  • No harassment via DMs
  • No unsolicited commercial messages
  • Respect when someone doesn't respond

Comments and Interactions

  • Keep discussions constructive
  • No hate speech or harassment in comments
  • Use likes/dislikes genuinely, not to harass

How We Enforce

Our Approach

  • Technology - Automated detection of policy violations
  • Community Reports - Users can report violations
  • Human Review - Our team reviews reported content
  • Context Matters - We consider intent and context

Consequences

  • Depending on severity:
    • Warning - First-time minor violations
    • Content Removal - Violating posts deleted
    • Feature Restrictions - Limited ability to post/comment
    • Temporary Suspension - Time-out from DoDot
    • Permanent Ban - For severe or repeated violations

Appeals

  • Think we made a mistake? You can appeal:
    • Tap the notification about the action
    • Select "Request Review"
    • Explain why you disagree
    • We'll review within 48 hours

Reporting

See something that violates these guidelines?

How to Report

  • In-app: Tap the three dots (...) on any content
  • Select: "Report"
  • Choose: The reason for reporting
  • Submit: Add details if needed

What Happens Next

  • We review reports within 24 hours
  • Take action if guidelines are violated
  • Notify you of the outcome (in most cases)
  • Reporter identity stays confidential

Emergency: For immediate safety threats, contact local authorities first.

Additional Policies

Promotional Content

  • Personal accounts shouldn't be overly promotional
  • No MLM or pyramid schemes
  • Disclose sponsored content
  • Follow advertising laws in your region

Platform Manipulation

  • Don't try to game the system:
    • No creating multiple accounts to evade bans
    • No using bots or automation
    • No attempting to hack or compromise DoDot
    • No encouraging others to violate guidelines

Misinformation

  • We may remove or label:
    • False information that could cause harm
    • Manipulated media (deepfakes)
    • Misleading content about emergencies
    • Election-related misinformation

Updates

We may update these guidelines as our community grows. We'll notify you of significant changes through:

  • In-app notifications
  • Email to registered users
  • Announcement posts

Continued use after changes means you accept the new guidelines.

DoDot works because of you - our community. Most users never violate these guidelines. They're here to ensure everyone can enjoy sharing authentic moments safely.
